The Main Reason For The Oil Seal Of The Gear Pump To Be Flushed Out
Nov 09, 2024| When the gear pump is working in the main engine, sometimes some problems will be encountered, such as the oil seal being flushed out. At this time, don't worry, you can find the reason first.
1. The gear pump rotates in the wrong direction. When the pump rotates in the wrong direction, the high-pressure oil will directly pass to the oil seal. Since the general low-pressure skeleton oil seal can only withstand a pressure of 0.5 MPa at most, the oil seal will be flushed out.
2. The gear pump bearing is subjected to axial force. The generation of axial force is often related to the tight fit between the gear pump shaft extension end and the coupling sleeve, that is, when installing, the pump is hammered hard or the pump shaft extension end is forced into the coupling sleeve by installing the screws. In this way, the pump shaft is subjected to a backward axial force. When the pump shaft rotates, this backward axial force will force the internal wear of the pump to increase. This situation occurs more frequently in the dump truck industry, mainly due to the irregular size of the coupling sleeve on the main engine.
3. The gear pump is subjected to excessive radial force. If the coaxiality of the gear pump is not good during installation, the radial force on the pump will exceed the bearing limit of the oil seal, causing oil seal leakage. At the same time, it will also cause damage to the floating bearing inside the pump.
