FRP Bolt Mixer

FRP Bolt Mixer

Also known as: FRP bolt installer, mixing sleeve, FRP bolt driving sleeve — a mining support accessory specifically designed for mixing and installing FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) resin anchor bolts. Not suitable for ordinary steel bolts or steel strand anchor cables.

  • Product Introduction
customized FRP bolt mixer

Also known as: FRP bolt installer, mixing sleeve, FRP bolt driving sleeve - a mining support accessory specifically designed for mixing and installing FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) resin anchor bolts. Not suitable for ordinary steel bolts or steel strand anchor cables.
Compatible equipment: Anchor bolt drilling rigs (MQTB, etc.), with mainstream B19 and B22 hexagonal shank interfaces.
⚠️ Distinction: FRP bolt mixer ≠ anchor cable mixer. Anchor cable mixers are designed for steel strands and must not be used to install FRP bolts.

modular-1
Applications

Used in coal mine roadways and semi-coal-rock roadways for installing FRP resin anchor bolts. It transmits drilling rig torque to rotate the FRP bolt and mix the resin anchoring agent in the borehole. After mixing is complete, wait for the anchoring agent to cure, then remove the mixing sleeve.
The FRP bolt body is a composite material and cannot withstand excessive impact torque. A dedicated mixing sleeve must be used. It is strictly prohibited to use a steel bolt mixer to force-tighten, as this can easily crack the tail threads of the bolt.

Structure

Integral alloy steel (40Cr/45#) forging, quenched and tempered heat treatment, black oxide rust-proof finish.

Driving end

B19/B22 external hexagon, inserted into the anchor drilling rig output shaft, with a pin hole for an anti-detachment pin to prevent falling off during operation.

Sleeve inner cavity

Matches the hexagonal/square clamping position at the tail of the FRP bolt. Does not clamp the bolt threads, protecting FRP threads from being crushed; the inner cavity has a positioning step.

Side holes

Observation hole and resin overflow discharge hole.

Common Models and Specifications

Model Compatible FRP Bolt Drilling Rig Interface
HSJQG16 Φ16 FRP bolt B19 / B22
HSJQG18 Φ18 FRP bolt B19 / B22
HSJQG20 Φ20 FRP bolt B19 / B22
HSJQG22 Φ22 FRP bolt B19 / B22

Key point: The sleeve inner diameter must strictly match the across-flats dimension of the FRP bolt tail. Excessive clearance causes slippage; insufficient clearance damages the FRP bolt tail.

Working Principle

Insert the hexagonal shank of the mixer into the anchor drilling rig output shaft and install the anti-detachment pin.

01

Insert the FRP bolt tail into the mixer sleeve (never clamp the threaded section).

02

With the resin anchoring agent already pushed to the bottom of the borehole by the bolt, the drilling rig rotates the bolt at low speed to mix the resin cartridge. Mixing time: 8–15 seconds (ultra-fast curing agent); 20–35 seconds (standard type).

03

Advance at a constant speed to the bottom of the hole, stop rotation, maintain drilling rig thrust, and wait for the resin to initially set and cure.

04

After the specified curing time, reverse the drilling rig to remove the mixing sleeve, then tighten the bolt nut subsequently.

05

Important: After mixing the FRP bolt, the nut must not be tightened directly using the mixer. Remove the mixer after resin curing and tighten the nut manually or with a tool. The FRP bolt body has limited torsional resistance - excessive torque will break the bolt body.

Product Features

Advantages

Dedicated inner cavity structure protects the tail threads of the FRP bolt, preventing cracking and thread chipping during mixing.
Quenched and tempered alloy steel withstands mixing torque, is wear-resistant, and resists deformation.
Quick assembly and disassembly, compatible with common underground B19/B22 anchor drilling rigs.
Equipped with overflow holes - resin overflow will not seize the sleeve.

Limitations

For FRP bolts only - not for steel bolts or steel strand anchor cables.
High matching precision required; mismatched specifications cause slippage or crush the bolt tail.
Cannot be used to apply pre-tightening torque - only responsible for mixing the anchoring agent.

FRP Bolt Mixer vs. Ordinary Steel Bolt Mixer

Item FRP Bolt Mixer Ordinary Steel Bolt Mixer
Applicable Object FRP (fiberglass) anchor bolts Metal steel anchor bolts
Inner Cavity Design Protects bolt tail, does not squeeze threads Can clamp steel bolt threads; mixing + nut tightening simultaneously
Function Resin mixing only, no nut pre-tightening Mixing + simultaneous nut tightening
Risk Point Misuse of steel mixer can easily crack FRP bolt tail threads Steel bolt has high strength, allows higher torque

On-Site Usage Precautions

Model selection must match the bolt diameter and tail across-flats dimension. B19/B22 drilling rig interfaces must not be interchanged.

During clamping, the bolt tail must fully enter the sleeve; the threaded portion must never enter the sleeve inner cavity.

Control rotation speed and mixing time. High-speed violent mixing is strictly prohibited - the torsional resistance of the FRP bolt body is far lower than steel and can easily twist off.

Stop rotation after mixing is complete, wait for resin initial set. Do not immediately reverse to remove, as this can loosen the bolt and reduce anchoring force.

If the mixer shows hexagonal wear, sleeve inner wall scoring, or cracks, immediately scrap and replace.

The mixer only completes mixing; after resin curing, remove the sleeve and then tighten the plate nut. Torque should be controlled at 20–30 N·m, not excessive.
