How To Adjust The Air Pressure Of A Pneumatic Rib Drill?

Oct 24, 2025|

1. Check the air compressor output
After starting the air compressor, observe whether the pressure gauge is stable within the range of 0.4~0.63MPa. If the air pressure fluctuates significantly, check if the air compressor filter or air-water separator is blocked.
2. Adjust the air pressure valve
Mechanical adjustment: Rotate the pressure regulating valve on the air compressor or air supply line (counterclockwise to increase, clockwise to decrease), and gradually adjust to the target air pressure.
Electronic adjustment (if the equipment supports it): Directly input the air pressure value through the control panel, and the system will automatically calibrate it.
3. Verify the air pressure at the drill's air inlet
After connecting the drill, measure the actual air pressure 5 meters away from the air inlet to ensure it matches the set value. If it is too low, check for air leaks in the air hose or ensure the inner diameter is ≥12mm.
Precautions
Safe operation: Wear safety glasses when adjusting to prevent air hose rupture.
Regular maintenance: Drain accumulated water from the air hose before each shift to prevent moisture from entering the pneumatic motor.
