- Product Introduction
Also known as: Cable mixing sleeve, cable drive socket; a specialized tool for mining cable bolting. Material: 40Cr / 42CrMo alloy steel, integrally forged, quenched and tempered, with a black oxide anti-rust finish.
Drive interfaces: Mainstream B19 and B22 hexagons, compatible with pneumatic roof bolters, hydraulic drills, and on-board drilling boxes of bolter-miners.
Function: Engages the cable anchor (ring/barrel), transmits drill torque, mixes resin cartridges, and simultaneously completes pre-tensioning of the cable anchor.
⚠️ Only for steel strand cables. Must not be interchanged with bolt mixers. Not for use on fiberglass bolts.

Applications
Used for resin cable bolting in roof and sidewalls of underground coal mines.
1. Standard type: Suitable when there is no obstruction at the borehole collar - the anchor is close to the collar, with no interference from steel straps, metal mesh, or large trays.
2. Extended-length type (‑L): Used when steel straps, metal mesh, or thick large trays obstruct the collar, preventing the standard socket from reaching the anchor; the extended barrel bridges over the obstructions.
3. Roadheader-mounted type (‑J): Designed for high-torque conditions on bolter-miner hydraulic drilling boxes, with reinforced wall thickness for high torque resistance.
Compatible cable steel strand specifications: Φ15.24, Φ17.8, Φ21.6mm.
Structure
Drive hexagonal end
B19/B22 external hexagon with a pin hole; fitted with a retaining pin to connect to the drill output shaft and transmit torque.
Barrel
Standard barrel / extended barrel (80–120mm extension); side walls have overflow/observation holes to discharge excess resin and prevent slurry buildup that could jam the socket.
Internal cavity
Profiled to match the cable anchor (ring/barrel) shape; only engages the anchor - gripping the steel strand itself is strictly prohibited to avoid strand damage and wire breakage.
Common Models
| Model | Drive Interface | Compatible Cable | Versions |
|---|---|---|---|
| HSJBS‑15 | B19/B22 | Φ15.24 | Standard / ‑L Extended / ‑J On-board |
| HSJBS‑18 | B19/B22 | Φ17.8 | Standard / ‑L Extended / ‑J On-board |
| HSJBS‑22 | B19/B22 | Φ21.6 | Standard / ‑L Extended / ‑J On-board |
Suffix description: ‑L = Extended-length type; ‑J = Roadheader-mounted heavy-duty type.
Version Comparison
| Item | Standard Cable Mixer | Extended-Length Cable Mixer | Roadheader-Mounted Cable Mixer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barrel length | Standard short barrel | Extended by 80–120mm | Thicker wall, standard/extended optional |
| Supporting equipment | Hand-held pneumatic roof bolter | Hand-held pneumatic roof bolter | Bolter-miner hydraulic drilling box |
| Application conditions | No mesh/strap interference | Steel straps, mesh, large trays interference | On-board high-torque continuous operation |
| Torsional performance | Conventional | Reduced due to longer cantilever | Highest strength, high torque resistance |
Cable Mixer vs. Bolt Mixer
| Item | Cable Mixer | Bolt Mixer |
|---|---|---|
| Gripping part | Cable anchor (ring/barrel) | Hexagonal head of bolt tail |
| Applicable member | Steel strand cables | Rebar metal bolts |
| Internal cavity | Profiled cavity for anchor shape | Hexagonal socket |
| Interchangeability | Not interchangeable | Not interchangeable |
Advantages
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur adipisicing elit.
Integral forged and tempered construction, no welding defects; mixes resin and completes anchor pre-tensioning simultaneously for high efficiency.
Side overflow holes allow resin to discharge, preventing socket jamming.
Universal B19/B22 interfaces for direct interchangeability; available in standard, extended, and on-board versions to suit different underground conditions.
Precautions
Size selection must match the cable and anchor profile. Mismatching causes slipping, insufficient resin mixing, and substandard anchorage force.
Bolter-miners must use the ‑J heavy-duty on-board type. Standard hand-held mixers cannot withstand the high torque of hydraulic drilling boxes and are prone to fracture.
Keep the drill pressed forward during mixing. After mixing, wait for the resin to reach initial set before reversing to withdraw. Premature reversal is strictly prohibited as it causes cable anchorage failure.
For extended-length types, choose the shortest extension that can clear support components to reduce the risk of torsional fracture.
Strictly prohibited to grip the steel strand itself for torque transmission to prevent wire breakage.
Pre-operation inspection: check for barrel cracks, hexagonal wear/rounding, and internal cavity scoring. Discard immediately if any damage is found.
