What are some common Pneumatic Roofbolters malfunctions?
Dec 05, 2025| 1. Power System Malfunction: Insufficient motor power, usually caused by low air pressure, a closed air supply valve, a damaged air supply hose, or a faulty air compressor.
2. Outrigger Malfunction: Insufficient outrigger thrust, slow descent speed, or inability to raise or lower the outriggers may be caused by low air pressure, clogged filters, damaged seals, or excessive oil buildup inside the outriggers.
3. Water System Problems: Manifested as no water spray or intermittent water spraying, require checking for damaged water jacket seals, foreign objects in the water inlet connector, and blockages in the water supply pipe.
4. Rotary Head and Drilling Problems: If the rotary head rotates inflexibly or the drilling speed is slow, it may be due to a bent drill rod, a dull drill bit, or insufficient water supply (low water pressure, water valve not fully open).
5. Other Mechanical Malfunctions: Abnormal noise, vibration, or swaying may originate from worn or loose internal parts or improper installation.
