How to maintain the performance of Pneumatic Roofbolters?
Dec 08, 2025| Five-sense inspection is a daily check-up checklist:
1. Visual inspection: Check the drill's exterior for damage, air leaks, oil leaks, and ensure all connecting bolts are tight and the oil level is normal.
2. Auditory inspection: Listen for smooth operation and any abnormal noises (such as metallic friction or impact sounds).
3. Tactile inspection: Feel for abnormal vibrations and excessively high surface temperatures (caution: safety).
4. Smell inspection: Smell for any unusual odors such as burnt or oily smells.
5. Taste inspection: This method is not suitable for drill maintenance.
Parameter monitoring is a precise preventative dashboard:
1. Air pressure: Ensure the working air pressure is stable within the range of 0.4-0.63 MPa. Insufficient air pressure will lead to reduced power, while excessive pressure may damage the equipment.
2. Water Pressure: The flushing water pressure should be maintained at 0.6-1.2 MPa to ensure effective borehole cooling and slag removal.
3. Lubrication: Regularly check the oil level in the lubricator (200ml recommended, leaving 10% empty space) to ensure proper lubrication of the pneumatic motor.
4. Air Consumption: Normal air consumption is approximately 3.8-4.5 m³/min. An abnormally high air consumption may indicate internal leakage or wear.
Operating procedures are the "safety talisman" for safe operation:
1. Always perform a trial run before operation to check if the switches are flexible and if air and water flow normally.
2. When drilling, first apply light pressure to create a positioning groove, then drill at full speed to avoid bending or breaking the drill rod.
3. Overpressure operation of the drilling rig is strictly prohibited. Do not carry the air or water hoses by hand during transport.
