How Often Should The Seals Of Pneumatic Roofbolters Be Replaced?
Oct 08, 2025| I. Seal Replacement Cycle
1. Normal Operating Conditions
For standard nitrile rubber seals, it is recommended to inspect and replace them every 1-2 years. Polyurethane or fluororubber seals can last up to 2-3 years.
For continuous operation or high-dust environments, the replacement interval should be shortened to 6-12 months. In humid or high-temperature environments, the seal condition should be checked quarterly.
2. Replacement Triggered by Abnormal Signals
If there is air leakage, abnormal noise (such as a "hissing" sound), or if lubricating oil is mixed with dust or emulsified, the seals must be replaced immediately.
II. Maintenance of Key Seals
1. Air Leg Seal Ring
During installation, ensure that the convex side of the Y-shaped seal ring faces upwards and apply lubricant. Check for wear every 15-20 days.
If the support leg leaks air or jams, prioritize checking for damaged seal rings and blocked air passages.
2. Water Jacket Seal Ring
Maintain simultaneously with the air leg seal to prevent water leakage from causing internal corrosion.
III. Measures to Extend Seal Life
Regularly clean the air filter screen to prevent dust from accelerating seal wear.
After shutdown, blow out any internal moisture to prevent the seals from aging due to freezing or dampness.
