Working Principle
The working principle of pneumatic gear motor is to use the pressure of gas to drive the gear to rotate, thereby generating power. The working chamber of the pneumatic motor is composed of a pair of gears. Compressed air is input from the symmetric center, and the gears rotate under the action of pressure. Pneumatic motors using spur gears can rotate forward and reverse, while pneumatic motors using herringbone gears or helical gears cannot reverse. Spur gear pneumatic gear motors can achieve free switching between forward and reverse directions without damaging the internal structure. We can change the direction of rotation of the motor output shaft by changing the intake and exhaust paths.

The rotation, torque and power of the gear-type pneumatic motor will change with the intake pressure, intake volume and load. This is the characteristic curve of the pneumatic motor. When the motor is idling, the speed is the highest and the torque is zero; when the motor is under load, the speed decreases and the torque increases; when the motor is almost stopped, the torque is the highest. As the load increases and the speed decreases, the air consumption will gradually decrease, and the intake pressure will also decrease. The maximum power point of the motor (that is, the rated power point) is at half of the idling speed. At this time, the gear-type pneumatic motor is most efficient in working outward.
